The House to Home experience
Get to know your new place through the House to Home tour, a unique chance to find out the exact building process of your new home while on-hand site managers offer their expert advice
Peek behind the scenes and discover the craftmanship Bellway London puts into every single property, from our contemporary construction processes and sustainable practices to the materials used and placement of fixtures.
Exclusive to Bellway London, our House to Home plots give you a glimpse into our entire build process, from the pre-plaster stage right through to a stunning modern home.
What is a House to Home plot?
Demonstrating each stage of the build process, our House to Home plots are split into sections to represent the ‘first fix’, ‘second fix’ and final completion phases.
This will give you a better understanding of your new property and the expertise that went into building it, plus useful insights into how to best care for your home once you’ve moved in. The site manager will guide you through the exposed walls and ceilings, with visible electrical wiring and plumbing, highlighting the care needed when putting up shelves, hanging pictures, or installing wall-mounted TVs.
Look out for signs dotted around the property, identifying different build stages, the materials used, our sustainable construction practices, and some key facts.
What will I see during the tour?
First fix
This phase will show the property as it will look once the foundations, walls, and roof have been built, and before finishing the plastering. It will showcase wall construction, ceilings and floors, pipework for heating and plumbing, and cabling for electricity and broadband. At this stage of the tour, you’ll gain a better understanding of where the services are placed within your new home, and the sustainable approach we take to housebuilding. The use of sustainably-sourced timber, cavity wall insulation, and thermally-efficient block work all help to keep your energy costs down.
Second fix
Once your plastering has been completed, the second fix begins, including tasks such as adding in sinks, baths and other fixtures, as well as connecting up electrical fixtures. This phase marks the point at which your new home really takes shape, with the installation of floors, internal doors, joinery mouldings, sockets and switches. Your site manager will also demonstrate the ‘no drill zones’ at this stage, which are the areas we advise that you avoid drilling in order to protect the services installed behind the walls of your home.
Final stages
This is the final stage that turns your property into a home. It includes the installation of the kitchen, wall and floor tiling, decorating, and carpeting (if included). At the end of the tour, you will see how this beautiful blank canvas has been expertly built using state-of-the-art materials and detailed craftmanship, meaning your new home will be ready to move into the moment you get your keys.
