Grandmother of seven loves the modern apartment lifestyle
The perfect move into a stylish new place overlooking the Thames.
A grandmother of seven adores her sleek, contemporary apartment
Modupe Olufunmilayo, a grandmother of seven, is loving the modern apartment lifestyle after moving into a stylish new place overlooking the River Thames and Dartford Crossing. Modupe purchased a two-bedroom apartment at Bellway London’s Crossways Quarter development in Stone, Dartford, after deciding it was time to downsize from her three-bedroom townhouse in Beckton.
The retired executive PA, who was keen to be closer to her family in Greenhithe, said: “I thought it was about time I made my life a bit easier as I was on my own and it was getting too much for me to look after the house and tend to the garden as well. In addition to this, I really wanted to be closer to my daughter and her husband so I can see more of them and their children."

A fantastic buying experience
Modupe says: “It was my daughter who spotted the Bellway development at Crossways Quarter and made an appointment for us to go and look at what they had on offer. When we got there, I was impressed with how modern and clean the development was and we looked around three different apartments.
“I really liked the two-bedroom apartment on the first floor of Liberty Court and reserved it there and then on the day. The sales advisor Anca was brilliant, and her help and advice convinced me that I was making the right decision about choosing my new home.”
Modupe, who has three children and seven grandchildren, sold her home in Beckton and was able to pay cash for her new apartment, which she moved into on 23rd April.

Clean, modern living
"Life in the apartment in general is so much easier than being in my old house", says Modupe.
"The apartment is gorgeous, it’s very well built and shines like a new pin. It’s great to know that everything is new and works perfectly and I don’t have to worry about getting any renovations or repairs done.
"Having everything on the one floor works well for me as there are no stairs to climb. It’s incredibly bright because of the windows, which enable light to shine through. Although the apartment layout is open plan, I like that the kitchen, dining and living areas are distinct so the place feels more spread out.
“When I want to get outside for a bit I can go and sit on the balcony where there are lovely views across the River Thames towards the bridge at Dartford Crossing.”

The perfect location
She says: “My daughter lives only a five-minute drive away and I get to see a lot of her and the grandchildren, which is wonderful. It is really nice to have the spare room so that if they come to see me they can always stay the night rather than have to rush home.
“Not only do I live closer to my family, I am now only a five-minute drive away from the fabulous Bluewater Shopping Centre, which we love to go to together to shop and also to chill out.
“Another benefit of living here is that there is a secure fob entry system to the apartment block which gives me extra security and peace of mind. There’s a lift up to the first floor so that saves me having to climb the stairs. All in all, I am really loving living the modern apartment lifestyle.”
